Lockheed »Super Electra«

Lockheed L-14 Super Electra – a Lockheed passenger and transport aircraft designed in the late 1930s. Created on the basis of an earlier model, the Super Electra became one of the most popular passenger aircraft in the period preceding the outbreak of World War II. During the war, the Lockheed Hudson bomber and patrol plane was created on its basis. In total, between 1937 and 1940, Lockheed plants built 114 Model 14s in various equipment versions. Licensed production was launched in Japan by the Tachikawa plant, which built a total of 119 machines marked as “Tachikawa LO” (during World War II, the Allies gave the machine the recognition code “Thelma”). From 1936, LOT Polish Airlines operated several Lockheed L-10 Electra machines. In 1937, it was decided to purchase 10 machines of a new, enlarged version. The first five machines arrived in Poland on board the transatlantic ships MS Batory and MS Piłsudski in April and May 1938. The machines were assembled at the airport in Rumia. [wiki]
